It is name after the capital of the Mid-Western region and the hope of the precolonial Benin Kingdom. Located in Nigeria’s coastal hinterland, is internationally renowned for ancient bronze artifacts and one of the earliest points of African contact with Europeans. The Portuguese reached Benin in 1485 and the British in 1553 which was followed by a robust trading relationship. Benin Hall has a capacity for 75 persons.
